He has a one year waiting list. A person can't just drive through town on a tour of Texas' high plains and say 'hey I want a pair of custom boots as a souvineer!'
Mr. Owens is a very nice man who will take time out of his busy schedule to talk to anyone. The first time my wife and I first met him, an NBC film crew was taping an interview with him and was filming some steps that are taken in the making of a pair of boots. My wife and I were shocked when in the middle of the filming he stopped what he was doing and came back over to us and began talking, this was while he was on camera. The reporter kind of looked over at us with a confused look. Mr. Owens is just that type of down to earth guy.
